Take the Sting Out of the Summer Holiday Cost ~ Kids Stay Free!

'Kids Stay Free', now there’s a phrase that's music to my ears! You know I'm all about taking the stress out of family travel so I’ve scoured the deal sites and gathered five of the best ‘Kids Stay Free’ bargain breaks around Ireland. So if you’re looking for a getaway break with your family look no further than the list below, hopefully you’ll find something you fancy and at a great price to boot.

Creggan Court Hotel ~ Athlone

How about a break in the heart of Ireland? Escapes.ie has an offer on at the moment €55 for 1 night or €95 for two nights B&B with late check out at the Creggan Court Hotel in Athlone. A complimentary bottle of bubbly is included in this deal if you dine in their restaurant.

Two children under 12 stay free with a nominal fee of €5 for breakfast. There are lots of things to see and do in the locality such as Birr Castle, see my post about our visit HERE or Athlone Castle read more about it HERE.

For more info on this deal see HERE.

Newgrange Hotel ~ Navan, Co Meath

Most of us never get around to doing the touristy things in our own Country well now is your chance to visit Newgrange Megalithic Passage Tomb on a bargain break, perfect if you’ve always wanted to but just never found the funds.

If like me you’ve looked into it before you’ll have found that there are only a limited number of tickets available each day on a first come first served basis and can’t be booked in advance so a stay in the Newgrange hotel located just 15 minutes away is ideal.

Pigsback.com has a fantastic deal of 1 night B&B, 3 course dinner with wine and late check out all for just €99. Children under 5 go free on a B&B basis while children aged 5-12 pay a supplement of €6.50 for breakfast. Just looking at the pictures of Newgrange Hotel make me want to book. More info HERE.

Kilcoran Lodge Hotel ~ Co Tipperary

Kilcoran Lodge Hotel was actually built as a Hunting lodge for the Earl of Glengall in the last Century. Located at the foot of the Galtee Mountains overlooking the Knockmealdown Mountains you’re sure to have a stunning view no matter which of their 22 rooms you stay in.

There’s a heap of touristy things to do in the area such as a visit to the Rock of Cashel, Mitchelstown Caves and Chair Castle to name but a few. I found a bargain deal via Dealrush.ie, 1 night B&B for 2 people, tea/coffee & scones on arrival, late checkout and full use of their leisure centre all for just €59. Children under 12 stay free but a fee for breakfast is payable at the hotel. More info HERE.

Hotel Rosslare ~ Co Wexford

Hotel Rosslare is a 100 year old boutique hotel famed for its cuisine located just a two minute drive from Rosslare harbour. There are lots of beautiful beaches in the area; we found one of them the last time we were passing through after our ferry home from the UK, they’re all well signposted.

Pigsback.com has a current offer with either a 1 night (€79) or 2 night (€129) option. Included in both options is full Irish breakfast, an upgrade to a Balcony Room with panoramic views over the ocean, late checkout and €10 dining credit when you spend €40. Children under 5 stay free while children aged 6-14 pay a supplement of €10 per night. Vouchers are valid 7 days a week until15th September 2016. For further info or to book click HERE.

Castle View B&B ~ Leitrim

Spend a night or two relaxing in a room overlooking Lough Gill located just a short 15 minute drive from Sligo town. Castle View B&B has a great deal with a host of extras via Escapes.ie. There are two options available 1 night for €69 or two nights for €119, tea/coffee and cookies on arrival, full Irish breakfast each morning, late checkout and a guided tour of the nearly 17th Century Medieval Plantation Castle.

Children under 10 years old stay free. I particularly like that this offer is valid throughout June & July so you can avail of it over the children’s school holidays. More info and to book click HERE.

Tell us, have you stayed in any of the above? Which would you recommend to a friend?
