Jurassic World - Movie Review

Who's In It?

 and

What's It About?

The scientists from Jurassic Park throw together a list of different animal DNA to make a big overpowered dinosaur, who of escapes and savages everything "FOR SPORT".

Any Good?

One thing I really didn't feel was the scale of the park like the original when they walk on the plains, it is bigger and looks better but it feels computery, and the dinosaurs looked a lot smaller unless there was a person for scale next to them. In saying that, the film looked gorgeous, rolling fields, thick forest and a waterfall made for great eye candy.

It just doesn't feel the same

As for the dinosaurs - mostly the Indominous Rex - there was no real feeling of fear from them. There was no glass of water shaking at a footstep or unseen scurrying in a dark kitchen, just a bunch of leathery dogs and Godzilla 2000 with a cloaking ability. There were a lot of great dinos though, a petting zoo full of baby stegosaurus and brontosaurus was one of the cutest things I've ever seen, I LOVED it. The really impressive large dinosaur was the Mosasaur, he was huge and toothy and a lot better than in the trailers.

Bryce Dallas Howard played Jim Carrey from Liar Liar - an Auntie who never has time for her nephews until they wish (beg for their lives) that she would save them, she then goes to Shia LeBeouf from the latest Indiana Jones to help. Chris Pratt's entire roll in this is to set his dog-dinos on tech-dino, and to say shit and son of a bitch every second sentence for comedic effect - I think I'm over the reddit obsession with him, so I can be honest when I say that.

I don't mean to tear into this so much, but it honestly felt like the Indominous Rex itself - a tossup of bits from the original 3 films and none of the soul. Even the MERCEDES MERCEDES MERCEDES jeeps were cold and grey - as opposed to the really cool black/green/yellow/red jeeps from before. The end was totally awesome though, as Mam said, the director of Godzilla needs to watch it to see how to really make a good Godzilla movie.
