Cherry Pick of the Week: Róisín Ó & Mundy - Turn Off the Silence (In Aid of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre)

I have waxed lyrical of my love for Róisín Ó's beautiful voice and singing style before, this time she is adding it to the musical talents of Irish singer/songwriter Mundy and together they are hoping to raise much needed funds for Dublin Rape Crisis Centre with this original song, Turn Off the Silence. (Official video to be released this week)

Having received over 9,000 calls in 2012, the need for funding for DRCC is unfortunately greater than ever and artists giving their time and talents to such a worthy cause should never go without note.

Ellen O’Malley Dunlop (DRCC's CEO) spoke of the collaboration “The Dublin Rape Crisis are so grateful to Mundy, Danny, Róisín and the entire team, who helped produce this song for us. We are so appreciative of the time which was generously taken from their incredibly busy schedules and we are overwhelmed by the result achieved. We hope the song is a huge success for both the charity and each of the artists.”

‘Turn Off The Silence’ Charity Single is available now on iTunes for €1.29 (ehm, less than half the price of a coffee) or you can make a donation, should you wish, on the DRCC website. www.drcc.ie.

Should you ever need to talk in confidence to a member of the Dublin Rape Crisis Team, their Freephone number is 1800778888, their services include a national 24-hour helpline, one to one counselling, court accompaniment, outreach services, training, awareness raising and lobbying.
