We're all coming down from 'Lympics buzz, right? Did you watch the closing ceremony? I've no clue what I'm going to do for my fit men fill from now on but all suggestions are welcome.
Without further ado, let's check out some Monday's Moments, eh?
1. Boom! Right in the Nostalgia
By rights this should have made it up last week but I couldn't let another Moments go past without sharing. I saw this pic a couple of weeks back and was immediately brought back in time playing with this shagging thing 30 years ago. I've no doubt the HSE clinics up and down the country still have them.
I thought I'd share the trip down memory lane with the good folks on Reddit. It reached the front page but my real moment was reading the comments it got from around the world. Worth a chuckle. Check them out here.
2. BodyShop Beautified
As I sat post eyebrow threading in the Blanchardstown Body Shop last week, having the chats with Chlair, I was amazed that they offer make up services. I told her as much as she gave me the most wonderful Vitamin E facial followed by some fab make up, using their new range.
Apparently it's €15, redeemable, I looked and felt great leaving the shop, adamant I'd be picking up pretty much everything she used on me. Then it struck me, I did know that The Body Shop do make up because my first ever make over was with my Sis, when we were 13 & 14 was in their Henry Street branch! As we both sat like a pair of Aunt Sallys on the 39 home we vowed never to allow anyone abuse us like that again. I can wholeheartedly say that The Body Shop have worked out the kinks in the past 20 years, I'll be back!
3. Snared, Caught Rapid.
I had the misfortune of being stuck in the office on Friday for Katie's final. Our offices are so quiet as we're on the Technical side. The admin side is chatter and phones ringing constantly, that was until 4.45 on Friday afternoon. The entire 600 staff were silent, the offices were silent. You could hear a pin drop.
We all went about our work diligently, missing the final like good, conscientious workers. That was until the result was announced. The offices erupted! There's nothing quite like the sound of 600 cheers of elation and pride followed swiftly by 600 people scrambling to sit down, realising they'd been stung streaming the match. Class.
4. Conas a Tá Tú, Daithí?
And we lauuuuughed... |
Haring back to the office on Wednesday, following The Bourne Legacy screening, I was almost in too much of a rush to notice the only other two peeps get into the car park lift with me. Almost. Turns out it was Búachaill Dána himself, Daithí Ó Sé and his gorgeous new wife.
'How are you, yourself?' sez D (I call him that now) as if we're mates, 'Grand' sez I, 'How was the honeymoon?'. This continued back and forth in what felt like the longest lift ride in the history of lift rides. Apparently they were in Russia and Estonia but the food was a bit rich and plentiful, they're glad to be home and were pretty convincing in their sympathy that I haven't had a holiday yet. Like THAT we are: *squeezes fingers together*
5. Illustrating Reddit
One of my favourite moments of the entire week has to have been finding that Illustrating Reddit (Sandra Salsbury) has set up her own website, Facebook & Pinterest to share her adorable art.
For the past 4 months, she's been randomly picking Reddit posts and drawing the most divine illustrations to depict her take on proceedings (See above). I'm absolutely blown away with her work every single time and am truly delighted she's now sharing it with a much larger audience. Take a peek through her stunning imaginings and let me know what you think. I'm in love with 'em.
So tell me, good peoples, what's been going on in your corner of the world this week? Anything you'd love to share? G'wan....
Brilliant moments! The bit about the HSE clinics- so true! We have toys that time forgot but actually don't have one of those !
