I've been meaning to post about Batiste's newest dry shampoo offering for a little while now but each time I thought of it, apathy took over. That's not a good sign, is it?
As soon as I saw this leopard print tin on the shelves of Boots in November my inner Bette Lynch came over all 'Eh up, Chuck' and into my basket it was thrun.
Batiste says: 'Wild is for daring girls who are in touch with their animal instinct. A feisty Oriental fragrance with loads of personality, it's the perfect partner when you’re out on the prowl.' That's me, right? The problem is it's only the perfect partner if your aim is to do absolutely nada to your locks.
The scent is cocoa, vanilla and wood and it comes off a lot muskier than other Batiste offerings, which I wouldn't normally mind, if it worked. Its not the first time Batiste has let me down, their XXL version was wojus but their Light & Blonde has saved my skin (well, my hair) more than once in the past so we haven't completely fallen out.
Even with the more effective dry shampoos in the range, Batiste tends to build up quickly and cause scalp irritation for some but as a once in while grease root saviour or a volume builder for a night on the prowl town, I've yet to find better than Light and Blonde.
Some people abhor dry shampoos, others swear by them. When it comes to my opinion on this one? The only thing wild about it, I'm afraid, is that it’s wildly ineffective.
Are you a dry shampoo fan? Do you have a favourite from this range, or another?
I loved the XXL version, must be the only one! Haven't tried light and blonde so must give that a go...
ReplyDeleteI love the Light & Blonde, Síle, deffny my favourite of the bunch!
DeleteThanks for this Sue, will know to avoid this one! I am addicted to trying dry shampoos, volumising sprays and hair powders in the hopes of finding the perfect one, but it hasn't quite happened yet...
ReplyDeleteI actually thought of this when I saw your John Frieda post, Em, you should give the darker one a bash and see what you think :)
DeleteDon't think I've ever actually tried a dry shampoo. So is it JUST for greasy hair, like for the purpose of getting an extra day out of your hair before washin
ReplyDeleteIt's great for that, Laura but brilliant for building volume too when sprayed on the roots. The coloured versions have been known to be used for hiding one or two bodger badger hairs or roots too. Not mine, of course ;)
