The Three Musketeers - Preview Review

Who's in it?

What's it about?

Seriously? Its the 3 Musketeers..

Any Good?

The Three Musketeers opened liked the genius that is Assassin's Creed, almost identically, it was then I knew this was going to be good. I haven't been the biggest fan of 3D offerings but standing off the turret of the Tower of London? Ezio would be proud.

The film has a story book quality with cut scenes almost comic like and engrossing. Don't get me wrong, the cheese is lathered on thick with this one but I think that's part of its charm. I can't help but feel old when the 'lead' actors are more the Gorgebags' ages than mine but Milla Jovovich kicking ass & taking names was more than enough to keep me watching. (I'm so younger than her).

There's sweeping views of olden cities, impossible fight scenes that you just have to embrace and enjoy and more tongue in cheek humour than should be allowed but I think we might just have a hit.

Matthew MacFaddyen needs to do voice overs on trailers if he doesn't already or maybe read bedtime stories, I'd listen. The wardrobe is sumptuous and enviable and that's just the men!

I'll show my age once more here & say that every time the line 'All for one' was muttered my brain would hare off again with the song that anyone born before 1985 will know, without clicking the link.

Your name is what?

All in all this is a flock wallpaper wearing, rip rollicking good ride that really hits the spot. There's no need for the frivolity of premise or screenplay analysis, who cares? Buy the popcorn, sit yo' ass down & enjoy!

Rating?     (Gorgebags say 4 cherries! 'Get ye're own blog' says I)

Garrett McCord our family thanks you

Bahahaha, loving the cherry ratings (and the note to the gorgebags on that one). Sounds like an enjoyable film.

I love Matthew MacFadyen, not only is he a brilliant actor, if you can find a copy of the TV drama Warriors it's well worth a watch cos it's simply stunning and his best performance in my opinion, but I could listen to him reading the phone book. I love his voice, but then he isn't the voice of the M&S food ads for nothing, is he?

PS-If you do ever come across Warriors be sure to let me know as I only have it on VHS (it's the only reason why I still only a video player).

You had me at Orlando Bloom.

Interestingly (in a way that is not at all interesting), I still pronounce this "The Three MuskEEters". Aww, watched that video, after nearly dropping a calf when 1981 came up at the end. Didn't 80s cartoons have the longest titles ever? Used to watch this in the morning either before the cuteness of The Raccoons or to recover from the trauma of The Animals of Farthing Wood. I ramble. Yes, this looks good and thank you for the review :)
